Hanging at the Han River

One of the best spots to enjoy a sunny afternoon (you'll know what i mean if you're from the UK)is along the Han River at Yeouinaru Station. You can rent bikes for 3 hours for free from several subway stations across the city- the closest being Jamsil. This is a great way to see the river as they have incredible cycle paths along the whole river and across some bridges, it's definitely a favourite for the locals. Though in the park, they will try anything to avoid the sunlight so will be found under one of the hundreds of tents that are rented on a weekend day, so the park ends up looking like a festival. There are food stands nearby serving street food all day and it's also a great spot for cherry blossoms, it's where the festival is held in Seoul in springtime. It gets even busier at dusk for this reason and is just a great way to spend a free afternoon and have a few beers (you can also drink a margarita out of a sandwich bag with a straw if you fancy), the only downside being able to see how polluted it is.
